A visit from Cambridge MP Daniel Zeichner
Last week we were thrilled to welcome Daniel Zeichner for a special visit to explore the redevelopment and building works at the theatre. Since being elected in 2015 as a Member of Parliament for Cambridge, Daniel has been a strong advocate for arts and culture in the region, so it was a fantastic opportunity to show him the transformational progress so far.
Daniel Zeichner was shown around the auditorium works and given an update by the theatre’s Head of Technical Julian Cree, our Co-Chief Executive and Creative Director Rachel Tackley and board member Ian Mather. Daniel has actively supported numerous initiatives that improve access to the arts and ensure their sustainability for future generations, and his visit highlights the importance of investment into cultural institutions and the positive impact they have on local communities.
Following his visit Daniel Zeichner said: “Cambridge Arts Theatre is a cornerstone of our city’s cultural life, and this redevelopment project is a fantastic investment in its future. It was a pleasure to see the progress being made and hear about the benefits this will bring to audiences, performers, and the wider community. Supporting the arts is essential, and I commend the Theatre’s dedication to ensuring that the performing arts remains accessible and thriving in Cambridge.”
